| - User's manual
- The program is intended for remote controlling of Windows Media Player/Centre. The Remote Control Unit (RCU) buttons have to be assigned first. In other words, you have to determine an RCU button for "Play" command, a button for "Stop" command and so. So, the program can operate in two main modes "Training" and "Working".
- Training (RCU buttons assignment)
- The program's untrained buttons are marked with "!". The mark means there is no a Remote Control keys assigned to the buttons yet. Ctrl+Clicking a button initiates the button training. You have to direct the Remote Control Unit (RCU) to IrDA receiver and follow the instruction. After the button is trained, the button is expected assigned.
- Training instructions
- Ctrl + Click a program's button;
- Direct RCU to the IrDA receiver;
- Press and Hold a chosen (for the CtrlClicked button function) RCUs button until the training progress indicator reaches the end;
- Release the button for 3 seconds and press the button again when prompted. Repeat the procedure 4 times;
- IrDA Remote Control analyses those 4 RCU's signal packages then. If the signal is acceptable the button will be supposed trained. If all 4 signals are too different, you will have to repeat the training (see Tips and Tricks).
- There are some kinds of RCUs require additional training procedure. So you (if prompted) have to proceed with 2 extra training cycles. During those 2 cycles you have to make short /sharp button presses - Make several sharp key presses and then release the button for 3 seconds. Follow the instruction near the progress indicator. For that kind of RCU's you will have to use the same kind of sharp key presses in the working mode.
- If the progress indicator moves forward but falls down to the start, the behavior means there are breaks in the signal detection and you have to repeat the training. You can also try to move the RCU near or far, or direct on to IrDA receiver more precisely to increase the detection quality. If the progress indicator does not move anyway, please try another Remote Control Unit.
- The process has to be repeated for every desired "RCU key - program's button" pair.
- Working
- When one (or more) the desired keys are trained, the program is ready for the use. When the program detects an RCU button pressed, the program repaints the detection related IrRC button with grey for a second and sends the command to the media player/centre. The progress indicator shows input signal level.
You can click a program's button manually to verify remote command passing to Media Player/Centre anytime.
